Log Cleanup Scheduler
The cleanup scheduler runs daily at 2:00 AM org time. It removes entries older than the configured retention period and trims the oldest entries when a max entry limit is exceeded.
Use Start log cleanup Scheduler and Stop log cleanup Scheduler to control it. To verify the job in Salesforce, go to Setup → Scheduled Jobs.
See Schedulers for details about all automated jobs.
Considerations
| Topic | Note |
|---|---|
| Compliance | Check if your org has data retention policies that require keeping logs or audit events for a specific duration. |
| Storage | High scan volumes can consume significant storage. Monitor your org's usage. |
| Audit Trail | Export important audit data before cleanup if you need long term records. |
| Performance | Very high max entry values may slow down the Reporting page. Use reasonable limits for your org size. |
