Protection Profiles
Overview
- Protection Profiles allow you to define different security configurations for different groups of users.
- Each profile controls scan settings, active content detection, and MIME type handling.
Accessing Protection Profiles
- Go to Settings → General Settings
Profile Types
Default Profile: Created automatically. It applies to all users who are not assigned to another profile.
Custom Profiles: Map to one or more Salesforce user profiles for granular control.
Example mappings:
- "Standard" to most internal users
- "Strict" to customer-facing teams such as Support or Sales
- "Marketing" to the Marketing profile
- "Developer" to the Developer profile (may need broader file type access)
Managing Profiles
- Create new profiles from System Defaults or by cloning the Default Profile.
- Edit profile names and mapped Salesforce profiles.
- Delete custom profiles. The Default Profile cannot be deleted.
